Cookie Policy

Vidiyo uses first-party cookies and a small amount of browser storage (localStorage) to run the Service and, if you agree, to measure how the site is used. This page lists everything we store in your browser and how to control it.

Strictly necessary

These keep you signed in and remember your consent choice. They cannot be disabled.

• vidiyo_session: cookie holding your sign-in session. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Expires when your session ends or you sign out.
• vdy.cookie_consent: localStorage entry recording your choice on the cookie banner. Kept until you clear site data.
• vidiyo_consent: cookie recording your choice on the privacy prompt (opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for ads). Kept for one year. Change it at /settings/privacy.

Functional preferences

These remember playback, referral, and interface preferences on this device. They are first party. They are not sent to Google.

• vidiyo_ref: cookie with a share referral code from a short link, used once at sign-up so we can credit the person who shared with you.
• vidiyo_acq: cookie with first-touch landing path, referrer host, and campaign parameters from your first visit. We send it with your sign-up request and store it on your account. It is not sent to Google. 90 days, Path=/, SameSite=Lax.
• vidiyo:sound-on: whether you unmuted the player.
• vidiyo:guide:last-watched: the last channel you watched, so the guide can resume there.
• vdy:chat-hidden: whether you hid the live chat panel.
• vdy-launch-checklist-v1: your progress in the channel launch checklist tool.

Analytics

We measure plays, ad impressions, and errors with server-side events tied to the playback session. Separately, production web pages load Google Analytics 4 under Consent Mode. Until you choose Accept all, analytics storage stays denied and GA only receives cookieless pings. Accept all grants analytics cookies. Essential only keeps them denied. We set GA User-ID only after Accept all. We do not use Google ads features.

Advertising

Ads on Vidiyo are stitched into the video server-side with server-side frequency capping. We do not place third-party ad-tracking cookies, pixels, or identifiers in your browser, and we do not participate in cross-site behavioural advertising.

How to control this

Use the cookie banner to record your preference, or clear site data in your browser at any time. Clearing site data signs you out and resets your saved preferences. If we add a category of storage that is not strictly necessary or functional, we will update this page and ask for consent first.
